Take on the ultimate challenge and complete your first ultramarathon in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Great for those seeking to push their limit, the 50km and 50 mile courses behold stunning views of the Marin Headlands. Come along for a backdrop like no other.

Our events are located in amazingly beautiful parks and recreation areas in California. We are known for our well-marked courses, accurately measured distances, immediate race results, quality shirt designs, and low-key, friendly atmosphere.

We have organized over 400 events during the past 16 years. We love trail running and we promise you a rewarding experience.

Both courses will enjoy a striking trail running tour of the Marin Headlands which will offer views of Tiburon, Pirates Cove, San Francisco and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Kicking off from Rodeo Beach, the 50 mile route is an out and back to Stinson Beach before taking a shortcut to finish back at Rodeo Beach. The 50km route offers a slightly easier route that turns back at the notorious Cardiac Hill.
Course Surfaces:
50km - (Elevation 5,990, 48% Single Track, 47% Dirt Road, 5% Asphalt)
50 mi - (Elevation 9,890', 57% Single Track, 39% Dirt Road, 4% Asphalt)
Schedule:
6:00am - 6:45am: Bib number & Shirt Pick-Up
7:00am: 50km/50 mile race start
Please arrive at least 45 minutes before the race start to ensure there is ample time to collect your number and shirt.
Volunteers are a huge part of bringing Coastal Trail Runs epic races to life. Roles vary from race-to-race but often include manning aid stations, helping at registration, or distributing those cherished finisher's medals.
In return, you will receive a 'standard' entry into a race if you help for 5 hours, $25 discount (2 hours), or $15 (1 hour).
