This gorgeous route takes you through the Santa Ynez Valley and finishes in Solvang with a one-of-a-kind Wine and Music post-race festival where we’ll have live music and over 20 wineries pouring to celebrate you!

Prepare to take a scenic journey on this 13.1-mile course that winds through the Santa Ynez Valley bordered by vineyards and the Sierra Madre Mountains. The course starts in downtown Santa Ynez, then passes through the quaint town of Los Olivos, making its way up Corkscrew Hill before the beautiful run down Ballard Canyon to the grand finish on Copenhagen Drive in the heart of historic Solvang. Along the way you’ll wind through clusters of horse ranches, fruit orchards, lavender farms and vineyards.
For those relay runners:
See the course map above to see the split of the 1st and 2nd Legs of the 2-person relay. Split the distance and share the glory as the 1st runner’s relay leg is treated as a Finish Line. At the Relay Exchange at Alamo Pintado, the 1st runner will receive their medal, recovery goody bag, and will have access to transportation from the transition to the Festival.

A commemorative Wine Glass and wristband are required to enter the Wine Tasting Area of the Post Race Festival. All registered runners 21+ may purchase (1) additional glasses for a guest. All Wine & Music Festival attendees must be 21+. Space is limited and Wine Glasses sell out every year, please plan ahead and purchase early.
Runners may Pre-Purchase a commemorative Silipint and 1 beer for themselves and for up to 3 guests to enjoy at the Post Race Wine and Music Festival. Silipints are picked up at the “Wine Glass” tent at the end of the race. Please have your guests with you at that time and everyone must be prepared to show photo ID for verification of age. Additional beer tickets will be available to purchase at the event.

Bus transportation is provided from select locations to the Start Line. There is return bus service from the Finish Line to those original locations.
Event day logistics
Race Day Packet Pickup on Saturday May 11, 2019
The Race Day Packet Pickup service is provided at the will-call table near the start area. Runners using the Race Day Packet Pickup service should plan on arriving at least 45 minutes prior to the race. Bibs and chips will be handed out before the race; shirts must be picked up from the merchandise booth after the race in the finish festival. Sign up for this service in conjunction with registration, or after registration by logging into your MyEvents account, and selecting Purchase Merchandise. Packets will also be available at the Race Expo if you sign-up for this service.
There are 3 primary areas to view the race.
The start in downtown Santa Ynez. Grab a cup of coffee and breakfast at the local coffee house or restaurant (Longhorn) on Sagunto St. and then watch the runners make their way through the start structure onto Edison then Tivola onto Meadowvale heading north. Park the dested event dirt parking lots off Edison.
Watch the runners come up Grand Ave into downtown Los Olivos. They will take a left at the flagpole and head west towards Steele Lane and then up Corkscrew Hill into Ballard Canyon. Enter Los Olivos via Hwy 154 and park along the streets on the east side of of town. You can find breakfast spots and coffee in Los Olivos too.
The finish on Copenhagen Drive. Join the crowd and cheer the runners on as they make they way down from Atterdag onto Copenhagen for the final sprint (or shuffle) to the finish line just before 1st St. Then greet the runners as they exit the Recovery Tent food & beverage line and enjoy the post-race Wine & Music Festival, awards ceremony and exhibitor booths.
