About
Start your Thanksgiving Day morning at the Las Vegas Turkey Trot in historic Boulder City. Before the big game and family feast, enjoy a beautiful morning run with hundreds of runners. It’s an event the whole family will enjoy, with distances from 1 Mile to Half Marathon! This race is historic and scenic. Taking place at Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which is approximately 18 miles from Las Vegas and boasts amazing views as the largest man-made lake in the US. During the race, you'll run on the Historic Railroad Trail, part of the Rail-to-Trails Conservancy and National Park.

Route information
Half Marathon (13.1 Miles), Begin at the Historic Railroad Trailhead and run WEST for 2 miles before turning around and coming back the way you came. Continue onto the Historic Railroad Trail going through the 6 tunnels until you reach the turnaround at the Hoover Dam, at which point you will head back to the finish line.
12K Run (7.17 Miles), Begin at the Historic Railroad Trailhead and run east, continue onto the Historic Railroad Trail going through the 6 tunnels until you reach the turnaround, at which point you will head back to the finish line.
5K Course (3.1 Miles), Start at the Historic Railroad Trailhead and run east on the Historic Railroad Trail for 1.55 miles and then head back the same way you came.
1 Mile Stroll, Start at the Historic Railroad Trailhead and walk east on the Historic Railroad Trail for 0.5 miles and then head back the same way you came.

Parking marshals will direct you in the morning. The trail to the start line begins at the 3 water towers, at the west end of the Hoover Dam Lodge parking lot. Look for the bright orange restrooms! This route will take you 0.3 miles to the start line. This is a scenic, downhill walk. The start line and finish line locations are NOT in the same area. If you plan to drop gear at the finish line, you must go there before the start line. Leave your valuables at home or safely hidden and locked in your vehicles.
