Very fun event. My second year in a row running it, the atmosphere was amazing. The course was very well designed. It had its challenges but was also very fun. The competitors were great, all were great sports. Aside from the course, the venue had lots of things to do in the festival area. Plenty of food choices, great vantage points for spectators. Overall a successful event. I hope it returns next year.

Both days were fun. Steve Hammond did a great job with course. Like the new obstacles for the most part. Not sure about helix. Both clean race days. Toughest part was rolling mud pits. Loved it and hope they keep that up. Deeper is better especially when racing back to back days.

This is a fun season-opening race for Spartan and tends to attract a well rounded, balanced level of competitors. It is conveniently located to San Diego, Orange, LA, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The course does have a few small rolling hills but it is mostly flat with some unstable, technical terrain at times. The weather is usually cool and the atmosphere definitely is as well. Spartan races almost always host festive, well organized events and I do highly recommend.
