SOCAL River Marathon - Half Marathon - 10K - 5K routes
The Full Marathon course is awesome. Starting in Yorba Linda, California, this race heads down the Santa Ana River Trail passing Angels Stadium and views of Southern California via the River System. This course is primarily slightly downhill but does have a few rolling climbs. 380 feet of net decline over 26.2 miles so it will feel like a flat race.
Aid stations are around every 2 miles starting at mile 3. Potty, water, electrolyte at all. Gels and fruit at select miles. They will not be exactly at the mile markers due to course access for aid stations. Generally they will be close to Miles 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25. As we get closer to the race day we will have a more formal locations announced for these aid stations.
This course is a Boston Marathon qualifier course.
The Half Marathon course starts around Angels Stadium and runs to Huntington Beach. This course is pirmarily flat with a downhill grade.
Aid stations every 2 miles. Potty, water, electrolyte at all. Gels and fruit at select miles. The course is not exactly the map however it gives you the racer the basic route. As we finalize details we will update the map with the exact 13.1 mile distance.
The 10K course is an out and back course. It starts at the finish at Huntington Beach and runs 3.1 Miles out and back along the Santa Ana River Trail. Aid stations are placed at 1.55 mile, 3.1 miles and 4.65 mile. The course is primarily flat with a 15 feet incline on the way out and 15 feet decline on the way back.
The 5K course is an out and back course. It starts at the finish for the Full and Half and runs 1.55 Miles out and back on the Santa Ana River Trail. This course is primarily flat. Going out there is a 8 foot incline over 1.55 miles then 8 foot decline heading back. Aid stations are placed at 1.55 mile which is the turn around.
