Squaw Valley Half Marathon & Run to Squaw 8 Miler routes

Event check-in, registration, and parking is located at Squaw Valley.

Squaw Valley Half Marathon:

Starting and finishing at the Village At Squaw Valley, the out-and-back course is fast and flat taking you through the Truckee River valley. The terrain is mainly paved. You're bound to spot some incredible nature, such as eagles, deer, and trout. There are five aid stations on the route, stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, fruit, and snacks.

Run to Squaw:

Starting at Commons Beach, this is a 7.9 mile route along the Truckee River, surrounded by stunning scenery. The course is mostly flat, with a few uphills, and there are aid stations on the way to keep you energised and hydrated. The finish is in the heart of Village At Squaw Valley. A shuttle will have taken you from Squaw Valley to the start line.

Kit List

The terrain is mostly paved, so normal running shoes are suitable. The sierra air down by the river can be fresh, but generally you should be ok in normal running gear.

Volunteers

Volunteers can earn a free race registration of their own. Per hour of volunteering, you will receive $10 of Big Blue Adventure Bucks for future events. Volunteers must be aged 17 or older.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I purchase tickets on the day?
If the event has not already sold out, tickets can be purchased on the day at an extra cost of $5.
Can I wear headphones?
It is not encouraged to wear headphones, both for your own personal enjoyment of the race and for the safety of your fellow runners. Running without headphones will allow you to appreciate the race environment, build camaraderie with other runners, and hear instructions and encouragement from volunteers.
Are dogs allowed?
No dogs are allowed on the course. In the venue area, dogs are permitted but should be kept on a leash at all times.
What are the ages for youth/senior?
To be eligible for a "senior ticket", you must be at least 62 years old. For a youth ticket, you must be between the age of 8 and 18.
