The Summer Splash is a real sizzler for runners of all levels, containing a half marathon, 10k and 5k. These exciting out-and-back concrete courses will send runners past beautiful parks with some even taking in views of 'The Rock' itself. A perfect summer adventure for all to get involved in.

Route information
The half marathon course begins in the town of Castle Rock where runners will take in the various sights and sounds of the town before heading up towards the Meadows.
There are parklands alongside this concrete course and runners will face a steep hill that will take them in line with 'The Rock' before heading back down a steep downhill section towards the finish.
The 10k course will take runners through the meadows and up to castle view, there are quick inclines and declines throughout this concrete section as runners make their way through the East Plum Creek Trail.
5k runners will take in views of the East Plum Creek as they briefly begin on the East Plum trail. Runners will then head upwards towards the beautiful Castle View where they will finish the course.

Parking is limited and carpooling is recommended. Participants can park in the 3 parking lots located east of the Expo just off N Meadow's drive.
Drivers should not park on N Meadows drive, right next to the expo, and directly at the exit to the sports field. Drivers should also refrain from parking to the right of Meadows Boulevard en-route to the Expo.
Directions
To access the event, drivers should take the first available turning from highway 25 and follow signs to Castle View High School.
Event day logistics
Friday
4-7am Packet Pickup at Castle Rock, RNK Running and Walking (440 4th St. Castle Rock, CO 80104). Friends can also pick up race packets on behalf of runners. Dates and locations are subject to change a few weeks before race day.
Saturday
5:30 - 6:30am Same day registration opens and late packet pick up
6:00 - 10:00am Expo Open
6:30am Half Marathon Start
7:00am 5k & 10k Start
7:45am 5k Awards
8:00am Overall 10k and Half Marathon Awards
8:30am 10k Age Group Awards

Packet Pickup
Runners can pick up their race packet in advance on Thursday between 4-7:00pm at Castle Rock, RNK Running and Walking. It is also possible to pick up race packets on the event day at 5:30am. Friends can pick up race packets on behalf of runners by providing the name of the proxy runner.
Performance T-Shirts
All runners will be given a green performance T-Shirt after completing the event.
Awards
The top 3 Men and Top 3 Women overall will be awarded a prize, with the top 3 in each age group winning a pint glass.
10k and Half Marathon: 19 and Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. 5k: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.
Water stations
5k: There are water stations at miles .75 and 1.25.
10k: There are water stations at miles .75, 2, 4 and 5.25.
13.1: There are water stations at miles .75, 2, 4, 5.5, 6.5, 9, 11 and 12.25. Energy gels can be found at miles 5.5 and 6.5.
Dogs
Participants are free to bring their dogs to the course as long as they are well behaved.
Toilets
There are toilets located next to the Expo at the event and at miles 5.5 and 6.4 on the half marathon course.
Strollers
Strollers are permitted, but please do not ride them downhill despite the temptation to do so!.
Age Requirements
Runners of any age can participate in this event.
Raceday raffle
There will be a charity raffle with Blessings in a Backpack on race-morning, please consider donating the following critical needs items: Granola bars, oatmeal, cereal cups. Runners who bring 5 of these donations will be entered into an exclusive race day raffle.
Afterparty
At the afterparty, runners will receive 25% of food at Miyo Cafe, please make sure to bring your race bib to your waiter to redeem the deal.
