Runners Love to Visit Surf City USA (Especially in February!)

Surf, sun, run! Mild winter weather accompanied by miles of wide, sandy California beaches, as far as the eyes can see. 10 miles, to be exact – the longest stretch of uninterrupted beachfront anywhere on the West Coast – and home of the ideal winter marathon.

HB’s long stretch of coastline is perfect for your Southern California “run- beach” vacation. These California beaches are some of HB’s greatest attributes, and it shows in the clean and safe reputations of both the sand and water.

Bib pick up was easy. My friend did have his bib. They could not find his.Lines for restroom kidda out of control. But i really enjoy Huntington Beach I run it every year. I also recruit many new bodies to this event every year.

Loved the view and the beach weather. The only problem with this course is covering the same 5 miles 4 times can mess with your head. The course is fairly flat so its a nice easy course.

I love Surf City! This is my second time doing this race - first time doing the full marathon and I am already registered for 2019!! My only complaint is, since I was back of the pack this time, the finish line left a lot to be desired. I had to hunt down food and there was no cold water. I will note that when they officially closed the course they moved the finish line into the parking lot to allow each and every runner to finish. Super kuddos for this support. The kiddos from Mesa Middle School were awesome as well!!!

Amazing beach run for my first full marathon in my hometown ! Local school volunteers were so nice handing out water and snacks. Great cliff jelly energy shots! Loved the tracking device that updated my friends via text of my times too. The last 6 mile of the course was hot and empty with no one to cheer or give water but it was ok. Still great experience!

The race was fun! The weather was great and it was very well organized. It's beautiful running along the ocean. A little variation is good too so there was a point around mile 8 (in the half) where I got a little bored running up PCH. Overall, it was a great race.

This is one of my favorite and regular marathons. I ran this race when it was called Pacific Shoreline and giving away shoes to runners at the end of the race. I regained my Legacy status again and after years of surgeries, I'm back. It's well organized and the course is very scenic. My wife and son ran the Half Marathon this year and they loved it.

5th time running this one. Liked the qr expo pick up. So quick! 2 things that bothered me on the course: 1. all runners on one side of the street on Seapoint. Too crowded. I saw someone fall and we were pushed by people trying to pass. 2. I love Nuun. I usually carry it with me on a race. I didnt carry my own since they would be the course drink. However, can someone please give a mixing lesson? It was so potent it was undrinkable. There was one station by mile 11 that had it almost right. Other than that, its a great race. I didnt get to enjoy the beach party because I had to leave but I will next year. Looked fun on the sand.

My first time running this event and I had a really good time. Positive vibes throughout and beautiful views at the end. I enjoyed myself.

Had a great race. Ample supply of water, and electrolyte drinks handed out by happy volunteers. Volunteers and wellwishers all throughout the course giving a strong sense that the community was behind the event 100%.I signed up for the VIP package which came with access to the VIP party tent; this was a great investment as I had a safe environment with a chair and access to bottled water so I could come down from the race for 2 hours, without moving too much or passing out from exposure to the sun. Good times were had
