Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a closed road event?
During the race, road closures will be in place, however Cedar and Newark Blvds. will NOT be completely closed to traffic before the beginning of the race. Race participants are advised to use sidewalks and Newark Community Park to complete warmups. Again, please keep your running off the streets before the race, so we can ensure the Newark Mile will be able to stay there for years to come!
We are all alumni of the Newark Memorial Cross Country team. Most of us were in the best shape of our lives during the time we spent there. Some of us got into even better running shape after high school (the crazy ones.) Some of us participated in intercollegiate athletics. Some of us are moth types. Some of us lean towards the non-linear.
