Route information
Terrain: Paved and Trail
The 5k course begins in the woodlands of Lake Chabot Regional Park as participants enter some short, paved rollers while they jink through a twisting section. The course runs alongside Lake Chabot and runners will be able to take in beautiful sprawling surrounds as they reach the 2k mark.
The course is run under an out-and-back format, runners will turn around the 2.5k mark to return back to the start/finish area. They will be flanked by woodland throughout, making for a scenic and unique race experience.
The 10k course follows the 5k route before continuing northbound through lush woodland. Competitors will tackle a steep hill at the 5k mark before the course opens up at the 6k point, with fewer trees at this section. Runners will retrace their steps in this out-and-back format, ending at the start/finish area.
The Half Marathon takes runners around the entirety of Lake Chalbot as they follow an anti-clockwise course that takes them past beautiful scenes such as Coot Landing, Alder Point and Live Oak Island.
Participants will drift past Chabot Park following through Hawk Bridge Group Camp as they tackle a tough incline section before transferring from The Skyline Trail onto the Columbine Trail.
Runners will breeze through this panoramic section which snakes alongside the Grass Valley Creek. After scaling the lookout Ridge and drifting past the beautiful Sunset Bench, runners will enter the 10k course which they will follow back to the finish line of this loop format.

Follow the I-580 and turn off at Fairmont Drive, following signs to Lake Chabot Regional Park. The start/finish area for all races is located at the Lake Chabot Marian and Cafe area.

There is a virtual option for all of the race distances, so get involved if you aren't able to attend in person. The start and end dates for this event will be confirmed closer to the event date.
Cut-off times
All live races will end at 1:00 pm.

In the event of race cancellation due to wildfires, hazardous air quality, hazardous weather conditions, natural disasters, COVID and/or other global pandemics, or any 'act of God' that is beyond the organizer's control, the organizer cannot support refunds, transfers, and/or credits. Please note this has only happened ONCE due to COVID in 2020, but anything is possible. Please make sure you are comfortable with these potential risks before you sign up.
In the event of race cancellation due to any of the aforementioned, the organizer will ship all race swag/items to participants and provide direction around navigating the course(s) on your own. The organizer will also provide direction around submitting your result.
The organizer also cannot support refunds, transfers, and/or race credits if you get injured in the days/week(s) leading up to race day, if your schedule changes in the days/week(s) leading up to race day, if a work trip comes up that makes it impossible for you to attend on race day, and/or any other professional or personal matter that arises making it difficult for you to attend in person on race day.
In the event of any of the aforementioned, the organizer will ship all race swag/items to said participants and provide direction around navigating the course(s) on your own. The organizer will also provide direction around submitting your result.
