The Inaugural Times-Union Half Marathon & 5K is coming to Jacksonville, FL on January 11, 2020 for a fun day of running and celebrating! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a beginner, you’ll have a blast running through downtown Jacksonville and celebrating your finish in Hemming Park with a huge party featuring delicious craft beer, free food, and live music!

Remember when you were a kid and you used to run around outside with your friends climbing trees, jumping in puddles, playing tag, and just plain having fun? Well Rugged Maniac is simply an adult version of that! We build 25+ epic obstacles for you and your friends to play on (like fire jumps, water slides, trampolines, and underground tunnels), put them in a 3-mile course, and then throw a crazy party with plenty of beer and music!

QUARTER-ZIP FLEECE

Half runners get an awesome long-sleeve 1/4-zip fleece!

All runners get a cool short-sleeve tech race tee!

The fun doesn’t stop after the run! The post-race party will be rockin’ with great music, entertainment, free pizza, free beer, and more. The best part? Friends & family get in free!

Are there awards for top finishers?

For both the half and 5k, prizes are awarded to the top 3 men and women finishers overall, and to the top 3 men and women in the following categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Awards must be picked up at the red tent near the finish or on stage.

THE HALF MARATHON

This USATF Certified Half Marathon course will run through downtown Jacksonville. Included will be a long stretch on the Jacksonville Riverwalk, which runs alongside the St. Johns River. This course provides 8 aid station opportunities with 2 portable toilets per station.

The half marathon time limit is 3 hours and 30 minutes.

5k

This USATF Certified 5K course will run through downtown Jacksonville. There will be one aid station along the course.

The 5k time limit is one hour.

Logistics and schedule

Packet Pick-ups

Friday, January 10th: 11 AM to 5:30 PM
Saturday, January 11th: 5:45 AM to 7:30 AM

Here you will receive your bib and your tech tee. Shirts won’t be mailed out after the event if you don’t pick yours up, so don’t skip out! More details will be posted here as we get closer to the event, so be sure to check back!
