All Athletes are brought down to the "old" beach area on Lakeside Dr. East around 7:40am on Race Day. Once down on the beach area the buoys will be easily visible. The swim course is an easy out and back set up keeping all buoys to the LEFT at all times. Our water temperatures for the last 3 years have been about 70-75 degrees 3-5ft below the surface. WET SUITES are ALLOWED if athletes choose to wear them. Water Safety is provided by Oxford Rescue Squad.
This beautiful course takes athletes through Liberty and White townships. This is where the lake earns its name of "Mountain Lake". BUT what goes up must come down! There are a few SHARP turns and STEEP hills on our bike course. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION and listen to all safety personnel at all times. The Mountain Lake Fire Company will be out on the roads providing traffic control and safety. No roads are closed to traffic.
Here is where the athletes get to see the true views of Mountain Lake! Athletes will go completely around the lake and up into the immediate neighborhoods before finishing near the transition area to be greeted by our amazing volunteers and all the spectators.
