  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

I've done this race every year its been Rock n Roll (once as the full the rest as the half) and i'm starting to fall out of love with it. Seeing the different neighbourhoods of DC is great but the course is tough with hill after hill and, due to the work on the Memorial Bridge, there is now a horrible out an back basically on the freeway. It seems as though each year there are fewer bands, fewer stands at the expo and fewer people at the water stops. This year in particular I had difficulty getting water and I was in the front 250 runners so the course was not crowded.Given some of the other races in this area (Army 10 miler, Marine Corps Marathon), there is so much potential for a better more enjoyable course.Did i sign up to do it again next year at the expo? yes. Will I question that choice as i have done the last few years? also yes
