As part of the World War II home front efforts, hundreds of ships were built here, including 142 Victory ships (the Red Oak Victory is still there and can be visited). It was also the site of the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant, built in 1930 and by 1942 converted to assemble jeeps, tanks and other military vehicles. Thousands of dedicated women and men worked to create the means necessary to ensure our victory. It's from their spirit of hard work and determination that we've named this race and hope to inspire excellence in all our runners.

So join us and run along the scenic San Francisco Bay Trail! The half marathon distance will have pacers thanks to the TriValley Running Club. Walkers/hikers and runners of all levels are welcome.

Victory Half Marathon, 10K & 5K routes

Starting at the historic Craneway Pavilion, all distances will run out along the San Francisco Bay Trail with breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, and Mt. Tamalpais. The courses are flat and fast making them great for beginners or runners looking to set a personal record.

All three courses are out and back along the shoreline on either paved or gravel trails.

Event Details

What’s Included
All races will be professionally chip timed.

All runners will receive custom finisher medals and t-shirts. There will be age-group medals for the top finishers in each category.

Raceday Logistics

Raceday Registration:

It is possible that the race is 100% sold out before race day. Updates will be posted on the race website. If you do not see the race noted as sold out here or on the race home page, you will be okay to sign up on race morning, starting at 7:00 a.m. Race day registration is an additional $5 from the final online registration price.

Bib Pick-Up:

Runners have three options for picking up their bibs and shirts:

1. Mail-out service (available for a fee when registering).
2. Pick-up in person at Road Runner Sports in Berkeley on Thursday, February 27 (3 pm - 7 pm) and Friday, February 28 (11 am - 3 pm). Runners who pick their bib up in person will get exclusive in-store discounts.
3. Pick up on race morning (not recommended).

In order to avoid race morning stress and avoid having to arrive even earlier, we strongly recommend choosing options 1 or 2. If you are unable to take advantage of those first two options, race morning pick-up will still be available, but you should aim to arrive 70-90 minutes ahead of your race start to account for lines.

Aid Stations:

As with all of our races, aid stations will be fully stocked with water, sports drink, gels, pretzels, candy, etc. Aid stations on course:

5K: 1
10K: 4
1/2 Marathon: 6

Aid station locations are shown on maps above. Those needing water more frequently are encouraged to carry a water bottle or hydration pack.

Pace Groups:

We are happy to announce that the Trivalley Running Club will be coming out to pace the Victory half marathons! These experienced runners have paced at many Brazen Racing events, helping our runners achieve their personal bests! The following pace groups are planned for the Victory Half Marathon: 1:30, 1:35, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20 and 2:30.

FAQs

I am a very slow runner. Am I going to be out of place?

You won't be out of place at all. Our races are planned for participants of all abilities, including walkers/hikers.

Can I wear headphones?

Yes, but we ask that you keep the volume down at a safe level so that you can hear other runners or instructions from event personnel. We also ask that you remove them, or, at the very least, remove one ear bud when you are coming to aid stations, in a large crowd or on more technical or difficult sections of the course. The important thing is paying attention to everyone's safety and maintaining basic race etiquette with other runners.

Do you offer a group discount? Frequent runner discount? Family discount? Coupon? Special break for running more than one race?

We do not.

Will there be somewhere to leave my warm-up clothes?

Yes, there will be a sweat-check area and these will be checked in and watched over by a volunteer. Bags for storing your sweats will be available if you do not bring your own. Please do not leave valuables in your sweat bags – we cannot be responsible for these items.

Can my dog run with me during the race?

Unfortunately no. As much as we love dogs and running with our own, not everyone is comfortable being around dogs (even if leashed) and for reasons of safety (for those with two legs and four) we ask runners not to bring their dogs along for the race.

Will the race be cancelled if it rains?

No. The race will be held, rain or shine. Courses may be modified to account for weather conditions.

We don’t care if you are fast or slow, big or small, young or old. We aren’t the beautiful people you might see in a shoe commercial on TV. We never will be. We’re just everyday people who have discovered the happiness that running can bring. If you have the guts to get off the couch, get outside and run or walk at least 5K (3.1 miles), we are ready for you.

The folks at Brazen and Tri Valley Running Club are all about ALL the volunteers and the runners! The Victory race event had plentiful parking, easy to access bib pickup and gear check, and a well located start/finish line. The friendly volunteers had the event set up to ALWAYS make sure that the runners needs are met, from the bib tent to gummy bears at aid stations. I wholeheartedly recommend running and/or volunteering with Brazen and the Tri Valley Running Club.

A gorgeous location to run, right at the edge of the water of the San Francisco Bay Area. A very flat course as it goes along the water, with sweeping views of San Francisco across the bay.
