For the intrepid, the 50K beckons with a special detour up the enticing Sturgeon Bay Trail, reuniting with the marathon path amidst a bloom of wildflowers at Goose Pond, where the half marathon also begins. Delight in a tapestry of rolling woods and pine-fringed trails, skirting the serene French Farm Lake, before being enveloped by balsam firs. Conclude your adventure on a historic rail trail, leading straight to an exuberant finish at Mackinaw City School.
