Route information
Back in the day of lumbering and moonshine, Whiskey Hill lived up to its name by offering strong local brews to travellers and loggers as they traversed the path.
While this run will not be serving up moonshine, runners will get to experience the route taken through the beautiful redwood forests, and be provided with a cold can of Headlands Brew as you cross the finish line.
The course will be run on woodland single or double track trails, under the watchful eye of the towering redwood forests, and will feature moderate climbs that will add a bit of challenge to an otherwise non-technical race.
The course will be marked with bright ribbon with clear and easy to read signage. 10K follows Blue, Half follows Yellow, Full follows Red, 50K follows Green. Details will also be explained at the pre-race briefing.
There will be a number of aid stations along the route. Those running the 10K will only receive aid at the finish line, however for the rest of the races there will be aid at the following locations:
- Half Marathon runners will receive aid twice at the King's Mountain AS. Once at 3.5 miles and again on the return at 7 miles.
- Marathon runner aid stations are at King's Mountain 3.5 miles, twice at Bear Gulch 9.1 and 14 miles, and again at King's Mountain on the return at 20 miles.
- 50K runners will have aid at King's Mountain 3.5 miles, twice at Bear Gulch 9.1 and 18.5 miles, and again at King's Mountain on the return at 25 miles.
