Whistle Punk - The Deuce routes

Whistle Punk - The Deuce, named as a nod to the area's logging past, is the first ever organized trail race through the stunning Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve.

The area, located on the western slopes of historic Kings Mountain, is well-known for its towering coastal redwoods, hardwood forests, and the large number of animal species that call it home.

The course, run along woodland trails within the preserve, is mostly non-technical, however, runners can expect some considerable thigh-burning climbs that will challenge even the most seasoned of runners. That being said, the course is perfect for experts looking to hone their trail technique, and first-timers looking for a piece of the trail running action. The half marathon will be one loop of the course, and the marathon will be two.

As a reward for taking on this challenge, runners will be treated to beautiful vista views, the tranquility of the forest, and the opportunity to explore the area in a new way.

Aid will be provided throughout the course and at the finish. You can expect the standard aid station fare of fruit, carbs, sweets, salty snacks, water, Skratch hydration and Clif nutrition products.
