The Trail Classic has all the elements of a great trail race: First there is the beauty. Enjoy the Nation’s largest municipal park featuring windy single-track trails, gravel tow path, rushing water, a great variety of animal species, all blanketed by old growth shade trees and lush vegetation. But do not be fooled by the beauty. This is also a challenging course with numerous short but steep hills as runners navigate through the Wissahickon gorge. Lungs and legs will be tested equally. The Wissahickon park provides a full rural trail experience right in Philadelphia. Now in its 13th year, the Trail Classic attracts runners from throughout the Delaware Valley and New Jersey because there is no other trail race quite like it.
How to enter the Wissahickon Trail Classic 10K

Wissahickon Trail Classic 10K routes
The 10k course will be the same as in recent years. Runners will start on Forbidden Trail (gravel) alongside the Wissahickon Creek before they head into the woods on a single-track trail.
After first exploring the upper trails on the West side of the creek, runners drop down and cross to the East side of the park before returning via a covered bridge to the Forbidden Drive to endure one final hill before heading for the finish.
