Battle your way round this epic and challenging run, swim and triathlon. With an icey swim, a rigorous off-road bike and a hilly trail run, there’s something for everyone. Come along to put your body through its paces in the great outdoors and test your washing machine the next day.

Route description

XTERRA Long Course Triathlon
A longer race for experienced off-road enthusiasts. A 1500m Swim in the Pacific, followed by a rigorous 25k Bike before a nice (and hilly) 10k Run.

XTERRA Sprint Course Triathlon
A ‘shorter’ race for people looking to get into off-road racing. A 500m Swim in the Pacific, followed by a ‘less’ rigorous 16k Bike before a nice and challenging 6k Run.

1500m Open Water Swim
You asked, we delivered! The 1500m Open Water Swim is here! Enter the water wiith all the athletes for a 1500m ocean swim in the beautiful Pacific.

13k Trail Run
Looking for a run on the trails (no swimming or biking needed!)? Look no further. We’ve got a 13k trail run that includes some new exciting single track!

6k Trail Run
This trail run offers a beautiful course for those not quite ready for the long course.

8:05 a.m. > XTERRA Long Course – Wave 2 Starts – Male/Female 45 and up

8:25 a.m. > XTERRA Short Course – Wave 1 Starts – Male/Female under 40 + Relays

8:30 a.m. > XTERRA Short Course – Wave 2 Starts – Male/Female 40 and up

The event is at CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK, just 10 minutes south of Newport Beach in Orange County, CA. The park is located off Pacific Coast Highway between Corona del Mar and Laguna Beach, California with easy access from I-5, 405 and 73.


From the 405 South, take the 73 South to Macarthur Blvd. Take this to PCH and go south to El Moro/Crystal Cove State Park. Turn left into the park and follow the signs! Parking is $15.00 at the State Parks. Correct change is appreciated. Support your State Parks and park in the lots (and don’t park in the dirt)!

From South OC – take PCH to the Park. Or the 73 Toll Road if you wish (exit El Toro and take this to Laguna Beach). Once you reach PCH – turn north to Crystal Cove State Park.
