The Half Marathon route will tkae you through the town and then out onto a trail oiutside of town. The start of this race will be rather flat before heading into the hills. Corssing the South Fork Madison River you will head into the forest. In the forest there will be some climbing before a plateau which will head into a descent.
There will be some technical challenges to overcome as you work your way through the forest. The course will be clearly marked but be careful of your footing. You will the being to descend towards the finish with plenty of steep descents and flat sections to help you pick up some speed.

The 5k & Fun Run starts at the expo location on Old Airport Rd, the run starts by going through the town. Afterward, the course follows forest service roads and cuts through the forest itself before returning to the finish line.

Parking will be open from 4:30am at Old Airport Road Lot off Iris Street in West Yellowstone.
Runner Drop-off
If you are dropping off a runner please enter the parking lot and drop your runner off just past the parking lot exit.

Race packet pickup
You can collect your race packet from the Expo the day before the race at: Old Airport Road Lot, off Iris Street.
Alternatively, you can pay $30 for your race packet to be shipped (US addresses only).
Aid Stations
The 5k will have one aid station at the halfway point.
There will be around 6 aid stations on the Half Marathon course. There will be a medic station at a station near the halfway mark.
Aid Stations include toilets, water, Gnarly Hydrate, Honey Stinger gels, basic first aid supplies and more.
Cup-less Event
Please be aware that this will be a cup-free event to reduce trash created. No cups will be provided at the start/finish line or any aid station. You will need to bring your own container to carry water with you.

Please remember that this event may be impacted due to COVID-19. The event has an increased chance of being canceled or postponed due to unexpected COVID-19 developments. All runners who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 are expected to avoid attending the event.

Spectator Info
Spectators are welcome to come and watch the Yellowstone Half Marathon. You can park at the Old Airport Road with the runners. You can meet your runners at the finish line.

Can I bring my dog to the Yellowstone Half Marathon?
Dogs will not be allowed to run the course, but they will be allowed at the finish line.
What is the cut off time for the Yellowstone Half Marathon?
The Half Marathon will have a 4 hour time limit, meaning a cut off time of 10:30am.
What is the Bison Double at the Yellowstone Half Marathon?
The Bison Double challenges participants to run the 5k & the Half Marathon. Participants in the Bison Double will receive a unique medal & swag. Simply running both events will not make you eligible for this event, you must enter the event at checkout.
