The event kicks off from the pictures Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation area and tracks along the notable Alameda Creek Trail all the way to the Niles Canyon.
The course is easy to follow and will be marked with directional signage the entire way. Please be courteous on the trail. If you're passing another runner or hiker, announce "on your left" as you approach. Course Surfaces

Exit the CA-238 onto Niles Blvd to reach the event.
There will be parking available at the event.
Event day logistics
7:30am - 8:40am: Bib number & Shirt Pick-Up
8:20am Kids Fun Run starts
8:30am: Half Marathon starts
8:40am: 5k starts
8:55am: 10k starts
12 noon Cut Off Time for all races
Please make sure you arrive at least 45 minutes before the start to get parked, registered and sufficiently warmed up before the start of your race.
There is a 3.5-hour time limit for all distances.
Headphones are allowed on dirt road sections only. Please do not wear headphones on single-track trail, while crossing paved roads, when getting aid at aid stations, or while crossing the finish line.
There will be fully-stocked aid stations every 2 miles. You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, water, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drink. If you would like to be sure that you have any other specific item at the event, you should carry it with you.

The weather is usually fairly warm this time of year. Please be sure to check the local forecast so you can bring the correct gear for the day, and don't forget your best pair of running shoes!
Is there a time limit for the Zoom Firecracker races?
Yes, there will be a cut-off time of 3.5 hours for all distances.
What are the aid stations at the Zoom Firecracker races stocked with?
Stations will have an abundance of fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, water and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drinks.
Should I still bring my own water to the Zoom Firecracker?
Absolutely, runners are advised to bring at least 20 oz. water between aid stations. Additionally, in an effort to help the environment Coastal Trail Runs are going cupless and ask that runners bring their own water containers. There will be Hydrapak SpeedCup's on sale for $5 at check-in.
