Running is My High is a large community event hosted by Native American Health Center that includes a 5k/10k run/walk around Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland and celebrates wellness, physical and mental health, nutrition, and social connection. This year, NAHC would like to honor our sister clinics, to acknowledge the vital role that Community Health Centers play in the Health Care landscape. If you are not a runner/walker, you are still welcomed to join us to enjoy traditional Native American drumming and dancing, outreach tables, and a children's activity area.
Hayward 10k Running Events
Starting at the historic campus of Santa Clara University/Mission Santa Clara, the course features a loop through Avaya Stadium, home to the San Jose Earthquakes! The event then returns to Santa Clara University where participants can enjoy a post-race festival on Santa Claras Franklin Mall. The course includes The Health Turst 6K, San Francisco 49ers 10K and Sutter Health/PAMF Kids Fun Run with dash distances (ages 2 7). If you have not made it to the 6K/10K split by 9am you will be directed to run on the 6K course even if you have registered for the 10K
All courses include challenging (but view-rewarding) hills to go up and down. We recommend walking the up-hill sections and saving your energy for the flat and downs! Except for the start/finish on a grassy field and a couple of small paved sections (less than 10%), the courses run on fire trails (with a section of single track for the Half Marathon).
Half Marathon starts at the entrance to the park at Point San Pedro Road. The course begins to the left for an approximate three-mile loop along the waters edge. After passing the park, the road begins its series of rolling hill descents through the oaks and madrones within China Camp State Park.
10k starts at the entrance to the park at Point San Pedro Road. The course begins to the left for an approximate three-mile loop along the waters edge. After passing the park, the road begins its series of rolling hill descents through the oaks and madrones within China Camp State Park.
5k starts at the entrance to the park at Point San Pedro Road. This course, all road, turns to the left and follows the waters edge. The turnaround, just at the little park, brings you back to enter McNears Beach Park. Gradually climb the entrance to past the guard gate before the big downhill to the great lawn, the expo, and yes! the finish line.
Feed the Need is the 4th annual 5K/10K Run/Walk fundraising event for Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen. Our goal is to host a family-friendly fundraising event while at the same time increase the communitys knowledge of our organization, and the services we offer.
