Route information
Marathon & Half Marathon
Both the full and half-distance routes start and finish at the Ottawa City Hall. The routes are flat and fast, perfect for targeting a new PR. The course promises a scenic tour of the beautiful Ottawa, running past some of the city's most iconic landmarks. This includes the National War Memorial, Dow's Lake, Dominion Observatory, The Rideau Canal and many more.
10K
This race is also the 2025 Canadian 10K Championships and attracts some of the best pro runners in the world. Starting at Ottawa City Hall, runners head down the iconic Rideau Canal (a UNESCO Heritage Site) and around Dow's Lake. After heading across Pretoria Bridge, athletes will be spurred on towards the finish line by thousands of cheering spectators.
5K
The 5K course also starts and finishes at Ottawa City Hall. Runners get a tour of Ottawa's historic parliament buildings and then run past the iconic Chateau Laurier and along the Rideau Canal before heading to the finish.
2K
The 2K course, perfect for all abilities and families (including those with strollers), sends runners down Elgin Street which is lined with spectators before looping back along the Rideau Canal making for an electric atmosphere and memories you'll never forget.
Ottawa Kids Marathon
The perfect opportunity for your Kids to have their first experience racing, this 1.2K loop starts and finishes at Ottawa City Hall and loops around the National War Monument.

Ottawa's local transport network is OC Transpo. Both the expo and race start area is easily accessible on foot from stops on the Confederation Line, as well as by some buses. Use this transport planner to plan your route.
By Bike
To beat the traffic, use one of Ottawa's many bike routes, including the iconic Rideau Canal, to access both the start area and expo. You can even leave your bike in the supervised bike parking area while you compete. See a list of bike paths on NCC's cycling page.
Parking
Whilst it is encouraged to use other means of transport, there are many parking options including on-street parking and private lots in downtown Ottawa.

This will occur at the Tamarack Ottawa Race weekend Health and Fitness Expo. The opening hours and locations for 2025 is TBC.
Green Bib
For those interested in reducing their carbon footprint, there is a Green Bib entry option meaning part of your race entry fee will go towards supporting a charity in the Desjardins Charity Challenge. If you choose this entry, you will not receive a medal or any mailed amenities.
Adaptive Athlete Programme
Run Ottawa believe running should be for all are dedicated to organising inclusive and accessible events. At the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend, athletes with visual impairment and physical or intellectual disabilities are offered the support of guide or support runners. Please specify your adaptive athlete status and how many guides you require during registration.

Pace Team
There will be a team of pace bunnies running a consistent pace to help you reach your goals. The pace bunnies are aiming to finish within 30 seconds of their target finish time. Head over to the Running Room pacer booth at the Race Expo to meet your bunny and look out for their signs and bunny ears on race day.
