Route information
Located 25km South of Lucerne, the picturesque town of Engelberg almost doesn't seem real. The cobbled streets, beautiful swiss hotels and 900 year old Benedictine Monastery are surrounded by rolling green pastures, out of which rise the titanic glaciated mountain peaks. This valley is truly magical and with 500km of trails to choose from you will not be disappointed.
RunThrough have combined runnable trails with big elevation to create a range of challenges to suit everyone’s running aspirations.
The Vertical Race opens up the weekend-long event and takes you from town, up to the Brunni gondola station for a well deserved Apres-Trail party!
The 25K, 56K and 100K routes all pass through the stunning Fürenalp valley before heading out towards Brunni and beyond. The trails are immaculate and the terrain is truly world class. The phrase ‘hidden gem’ doesn’t even get close…
