The third race in the 2019 NYRR Five-Borough Series brings runners to beautiful Flushing Meadows Corona Park for a flat, fast 10K with an early-summer date! Runners kicking off their training for the TCS New York City Marathon or any fall marathon will love this event. Flushing Meadows Corona Park is easily reached by public transportation, and it's a great place to spend the day. All entrants will receive a souvenir and all finishers will receive a medal.

Route information

Mile 1: Start on Meridian Road between the Avenue of Discovery and the Avenue of Research. Follow Meridian Road before turning left onto Meadow Lake Road West/Meadow Lake Promenade.
Mile 2: Follow Meadow Lake Drive West and bear right on Meadow Dr. Turn right to continue on Meadow Dr, around to the Meadowlark Circle to cross the Amphitheater Bridge and continue on Avenue of Asia. Right turn onto Avenue of Africa and right onto Meridian Rd.
Mile 3: Run an out-and-back loop on Shea Road, turning onto the other side of the road near Citi Field at Boat Basin Place
Mile 4: Follow Shea Road and Meridian Road, turning left onto the United Nations Avenue North ramp. Mile four is at the top of the ramp
Mile 5: Continue across the Hall of Science Bridge, then turn right onto the Grand Central Parkway ramp to the Avenue of Science. Continue alongside the Hall of Science and the Queens Zoo to cross the Zoo Bridge. Turn right at Avenue of the States to run around the New York State Pavilion.
Mile 6: Continue straight to run clockwise around the Unisphere, then continue on Avenue of Americas. Turn right onto the Avenue of Commerce and then turn right onto Herbert Hoover Promenade, reaching mile six at Astronaut Court. Continue on Dwight Eisenhower Promenade and turn left to the finish on the Avenue of Commerce.
Rising New York Road Runners
Activities on-site will include a selection of the following:
  • Animal Run: Participants imitate running styles of animals to build coordination skills
  • Jump!: Participants jump through X’s to practice jumping skills
  • Simon Says: Participants follow leader’s directions to build coordination and balance skills
  • Tag: Classic game where participants practice running and movement skills
  • Beanbag Challenge: Teams of participants collect beanbags in a relay
  • Kick-It: Participants kick balls to teammates to build footwork skills
  • All-Aboard: Participants get teammates to designated area using balance skills
    Track and Field Warm-Up: Staff leads participants in running drills and stretching

Live Results
Live unofficial results are available during the race at liveresults.nyrr.org and in the NYRR app. Features include leaderboards, map tracking, and an individual runner search that can be shared on Twitter. Tell your friends and family to follow your progress, and get unofficial results right after the race!
Race Photos
Photos will be captured and provided by Gameface a couple of days following the race. Visit https://www.gamefacemedia.com/find-my-photo-assistance/ and search the race name to receive access to your photos. Digital copies may be downloaded for free and prints will be available for purchase.

Runners are strongly encouraged to take public transportation to this event. Use MTA Trip Planner and follow the MTA's Weekender schedule to plan your race-day transportation.
Limited parking will be available at Citi Field, with lot access at Gates 3, 16, and 17 from 6:00 to 7:15 a.m. The cost is for $25 for small passenger vehicles and $50 for larger passenger vehicles such as 15-passenger vans.
The park roads will be closed at 7:00 a.m. in preparation for the race. All vehicles must be off the roads and parked by this time.

Race Number Pickup
Numbers (which include your timing tag) and souvenirs may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues) on the following dates:
  • Saturday, June 8, 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 9, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
  • Monday, June 10, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 11, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 12, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 13, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
  • Friday, June 14, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
Show the QR code from your race confirmation email or your NYRR account to pick up your race materials. If you're unable to pick up your race materials, a friend or family member can pick up for you; the person will need your QR code (printed or digitally). This policy is in effect only for our weekly races, not for the TCS New York City Marathon. T-shirts will be available for pickup until 10:00 a.m. on race day and sizes are subject to availability.
On race day, number pickup will be at Race-Day Central in Flushing Meadows Corona Park on the path from the 7 train heading toward the Pool of Industry. Pickup will be available from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. for the 10K. If you pick up on race day, please be sure to allow yourself enough time to get from Race-Day Central to the start.
Bag check, also located on the path from the 7 train heading toward the Pool of Industry, will be open from 6:15 to 11:00 a.m. If you wish to check a bag, please allow additional time for baggage check and security.
Wave Starts
The NYRR Queens 10K will start in two waves, the first (corrals AA-F) at 7:45 a.m. and the second (corrals G-L) at 8:15 a.m. You will receive your wave assignment in your confirmation email the week before the race.
Rising New York Road Runners
Stage 1
  • Ages- 2 to 11
  • Event Type - Non-competitive, Untimed shorter distances, Fitness activities.
  • Register If... Your child is new to physical activity or running, but likes playing games and being active.
Schedule
Stage 1 events will take place in the morning, and Stage 2 events will take place in the afternoon.
  • Stage 1 Boys and Girls- 10:00 a.m.
