Route description
Route description

All three courses will begin at MiraCosta College. Riders in the 33 mile race will complete a loop that passes through San Marcos and Escondido, one of the oldest cities in San Diego. Riders will climb up the Rancho Santa Fe Hill Climb, approximately 5 miles from the start line. The hill is about 2 miles long with a 4% grade. Riders will then enjoy some rest from the downhill and the opportunity to experience incredible views in the second half of the course.

Riders in the 67 mile race will complete this same loop, but continue on to complete a second loop through Poway and up the second big hill on this course, the Three Witches Hill Climb. Landing about 32.5 miles from the start, this climb is about a mile long and 4% grade.

Those taking on the incredible 102.5 miles have to complete a third grueling hill, The Purple Monster Hill Climb. This iconic hill is about 1.7 miles long with a 7% grade, and riders will be chip-timed to log their time up the hill. Riders should be aware though, that this hill is just one section of approximately 7 miles of climbing, so riders should manage their pace and make sure to stay appropriately hydrated.
