2027 Isle of Wight Sportive

The route will be pure GPX Garmin and GPS Tracking , so you WILL need a GPS (Garmin , Whaoo , etc)

Two key changes or 2027 !

We have reviewed the times from 2026 and are implementing the following rule changes :-

You have to reach the feed station by 13:00 otherwise you will be eliminated and your tracker removed by the broom wagon , and will no longer be part of the event.

The HQ will monitor riders current riding times and if your current average speed means your time will exceed the 7.5 hours (16:00) you will be stopped and have your tracker removed by the broom wagon.

If you fall into either of the two categories above you will eliminated from the event and hence no support will be available.

Welcome to our second edition of the Isle of Wight. For us at European Cycle Events it’s a chance to show case the IOW , so please come and join us. Our Sportive’s are normally based in and around Surrey but this time we are “pushing the boat out”. Our route will be the same as 2026 and start and finish at Freshwater , circumnavigating IOW clockwise . Riders will be clocking up 122 km with 2109m elevation. The Isle of Wight is a stunning picturesque location fitting for a cyclist. The event will have a mechanic at the start and rolling throughout the course , sag wagon , back up medical , mid fee station hot food available at the finish and live gps tracking, the complete Sportive.

With our Gps tracking facility your family and friends can track you from start to finish from the comfort of their home and if they are local they can judge it just right to turn up and cheer you over the finish line , we will issue a internet link for them to track the event.
