The Bishop’s Stortford Running Festival (BSRF) returns in 2027 for another unforgettable day of running, community and celebration.
Taking place in the heart of Bishop’s Stortford, the festival brings together runners of all abilities for a feel-good race day experience across 5K, 10K and Half Marathon distances. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, taking on your first running event, or joining friends, family and club-mates for a challenge, BSRF is designed to be welcoming, uplifting and memorable from start to finish.
Expect an energetic event village, a supportive local crowd, music, food, drink, and a brilliant race-day atmosphere as the town comes together to celebrate running. With scenic routes, closed-road sections and a festival-style finish, this is more than just a race - it’s a community sporting event built for runners, spectators and supporters alike.

Description
You’ll start and finish at the Bishop’s Stortford College, which will also host our event village and race day hub. From there, the course flows through:
  • College Sports Fields - A great open section where you'll be able to hear our DJs in full flow and family/friends cheering you on!
  • Bishop's Stortford College - A winding and characterful part of the route that runs through the beautiful grounds of the college campus.
  • Closed-Roads Town Centre - This is where the atmosphere will really build. Running through the centre of town on closed roads will create an amazing experience, with plenty of energy from spectators and supporters.

How to get there

Get full directions
The event village is located on the Bishop's Stortford College campus sports fields. Click this link for directions via Google, or what3words ///cove.simply.thus. Or, simply set your sat nav to direct towards the Bishop's Stortford College Pre-Prep. Please take into account that road closures will be in effect for the race, please take time to see whether your journey will be effected by visiting our traffic restrictions page.
In terms of parking, there are four options. They are marked on the map below:
  1. On-site parking at the event village. 150+ spaces. This is free, but limited. We recommend runners in the 10K and 5K races use alternatives.
  2. School House Drive Overflow. Located on the east side of the campus off of Hadham Road. This car park holds a capacity of approx. 50 spaces and is a 5-10 walk from the event village.
  3. Prep School Car Park Overflow. Located at the North of the campus off of Maze Green Road. This car park holds a capacity of 82 spaces and is a 5-10 walk from the event village.
  4. Northgate End Car Park. Located on Link Road in Bishop's Stortford, this car park holds a capacity of 500+ spaces and electric car charging. It is a 15-25min walk from the event village.
If you can and are able, we strongly encourage you to use bicycles and public transport on race day to ease parking and general traffic congestion, leaving spaces available for those that are travelling from further away to race. Thank you for your consideration!

  • Registration Opens - 7:45 AM
  • Half Marathon Start - 9:00 AM (Minimum Age 17+)
  • 10K Start - 9:40AM (Minimum Age 15+)
  • 5K Start - 10:20AM (Minimum Age 11+)
  • Cut Off - 2:00PM​
BAGGAGE
We will have secure bag drop tents located in the event village where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number. You simply tear it off and attach it to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff and they will help you find your baggage.
TOILETS
Portaloo facilities will be available in the event village.​
REFRESHMENTS
The event village will contain a variety of food and drink vendors. A water station will be available out on the course and water will be provided at the end of the race.

FAQs

Where do I collect my race number?
Your race number will be available for collection on the day. So make sure you leave yourself time to pick it up.
Is there a water station available?
Yes there will be a water station available on the course to keep you hydrated and refreshed!
Can I store belongings somewhere safe?
Yes - a bag drop will be available in the event village. Use the tearaway label from your race bib to label your belongings.
Can friends & family come?
Absolutely! They can either watch from the event village - or they can head down to the town centre to support you out on the course.
What happens after I finish?
You’ll receive your finisher medal, some goodies and can enjoy the event village - food, music and a great atmosphere.
