Balloch Castle Country Park 5k/10k/Half Marathon - October 2026

Run along the shores of Loch Lomond and explore the stunning grounds of Balloch Castle Country Park.

We’re bringing Up and Running Events to one of Scotland’s most beautiful running locations, with a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon set against the incredible backdrop of Loch Lomond.

Located at the southern end of the loch, Balloch Castle Country Park offers a race-day setting that’s hard to beat. With sweeping views across the water, beautiful woodland, open parkland and the historic Balloch Castle overlooking the grounds, this is a chance to experience one of Scotland’s most recognisable landscapes on the run.

The routes will take runners through the country park, past the impressive Balloch Castle and alongside the shores of Loch Lomond. Expect a mixture of scenic paths, tree-lined sections and open stretches with views across the water and towards the surrounding hills.

And while the scenery might steal the attention, there’s still plenty of running to be done. Whether you’re chasing a personal best in the 5K, stepping up to the 10K or taking on the Half Marathon, this is an event that offers something for runners of all abilities.

For those travelling from Glasgow and further afield, it’s also a brilliant excuse to make a day of it. Bring your friends and family, enjoy the atmosphere around the event village and spend some time exploring everything Loch Lomond has to offer.
