About

A full day of trail running, family races and outdoor adventure at Mugdock Country Park.
Join us for the Mugdock Running Festival, bringing runners of all ages and abilities together for a day on the trails at one of the Glasgow area’s best outdoor locations.
Choose from a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon, with routes taking you through the varied landscape of Mugdock Country Park. Expect woodland trails, open parkland, rolling terrain and plenty of twists, climbs and descents along the way. This isn’t about perfectly flat roads and chasing seconds – it’s about getting out on the trails and enjoying everything the park has to offer.
The day isn’t just for the adults either. With dedicated Kids Races and a Toddler Dash, we’re creating a proper family event where everyone can get involved, from little ones crossing their first finish line to experienced runners taking on the Half Marathon.
Whether you’re trying trail running for the first time, looking for your next challenge or bringing the whole family along for a day outdoors, everyone is welcome.
Expect chip timing, friendly marshals, free race photography, bespoke finisher medals, post-race goodies and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that comes with an Up and Running Events race day.
Pick your distance, bring the family and join us for the Mugdock Running Festival.

Route information

The Mugdock Running Festival is built around a scenic 5km trail loop through the heart of Mugdock Country Park.
The route takes runners across a varied mix of woodland trails, open parkland and natural paths, with rolling climbs and flowing descents adding plenty of variety along the way.
The 5K completes one loop, the 10K completes two loops, while Half Marathon runners complete four loops plus a short additional section to make up the full 21.1km distance.
Our Kids Race follows its own 2.5km course, giving younger runners the chance to experience the trails and be part of the festival atmosphere over a more accessible distance.
With changing terrain throughout, this isn’t a course designed around chasing a road PB. It’s a chance to get onto the trails, take on a different challenge and experience everything Mugdock Country Park has to offer.
All routes will be fully marked with directional arrows and friendly marshals throughout.
