Anglesey Trail 10K | Course Details
Distance: 10km | Terrain: Forest tracks, woodland trails, singletrack, sand and beach
Discover the extraordinary trails of Newborough Forest on this spectacular 10K route, combining flowing woodland running with breathtaking coastal scenery.
Starting on a wide, stony forest track alongside the beach, runners are treated to glimpses across the water towards the Llŷn Peninsula before heading out towards the beautiful Llanddwyn Island.
From here, the route heads deeper into the pine forest, where wide tracks give way to winding woodland paths, sandy trails and sections of singletrack. The varied terrain offers an exciting mix of running, with natural changes of pace as the course twists and turns beneath the trees.
As the route loops back towards the coast, runners follow the trails bordering the open landscape of Newborough Warren, enjoying expansive views out to sea.
A final turn brings you onto the sands of Traeth Llanddwyn for a spectacular beachside run towards the finish, where enthusiastic spectators and a warm Welsh welcome await.
The course is well suited to runners of different abilities, from those taking on their first trail race to experienced athletes looking for a rewarding 10K challenge. Expect a mixture of firm forest surfaces and softer sand, making this a very different experience from a traditional road race.

Anglesey Trail Half Marathon | Course Details
Distance: 21.1km | Terrain: Forest tracks, woodland trails, singletrack, sandy paths and beach
Take on a spectacular Half Marathon adventure through one of the most beautiful trail-running locations in the UK.
Set amongst the towering pines of Newborough Forest and the breathtaking coastline of Traeth Llanddwyn, this stunning single-loop course offers 21.1km of varied, rewarding trail running.
The route takes runners through the forest and out towards the picturesque Llanddwyn Island, where sweeping coastal views stretch towards the Llŷn Peninsula and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).
Heading back into the woodland, the course winds through a network of forest tracks, sandy paths and twisting singletrack trails. These beautiful woodland trails have an impressive running heritage, having previously hosted the Commonwealth Mountain and Ultra Distance Running Championships.
The changing terrain provides a genuine trail-running challenge. Firm forest tracks offer opportunities to find your rhythm, while narrower woodland paths and sections of soft sand demand a little more effort. Throughout the race, the landscape constantly changes, from peaceful pine forest to dramatic open coastline.
The course eventually loops back towards the start, where spectators, music and a fantastic finish-line atmosphere await.
The Anglesey Trail Half Marathon is a rewarding challenge for experienced runners, but also an excellent opportunity for road runners looking to experience their first off-road Half Marathon. There are no major mountain climbs, but the varied surfaces and sandy sections ensure it's an adventure worth preparing for.
