Route information
Cat and Fiddle Challenge 2023
-
Distance: 99k
-
Ascent: 1292m
This challenge will take you along quiet lanes with smatterings so climbs and sweeping descents for you to enjoy. The route will take you up the notorious Cat & Fiddle climb. On this route take in amazing landmarks such as Mow Cop Castle and Jodrell Bank, you will also reach some of the highest villages in England. This route will be fully signposted.
The Cat & Fiddle Challenge route for this year will be running the opposite way round to last year. This gives the route quite a different feel but maintains the challenge of some stiff climbs to overcome, but you’re more than paid back by the flow of downhills. Plus, with the route now going in an anti-clockwise direction, there’s more left turns than right turns (which is always nice!).
Jodrell Bank Loop
-
Distance: 79k
-
Ascent: 533m
This loop will be faster than the challenge, there are also fewer climbs too. You will weave your way through the picturesque Cheshire countryside, before passing through Jodrell Bank back towards the finish.
This is a self-supported route, it is not signposted but riders will be issued with GPS files and details of good café stops on the route.
