About
Take on one of the most adventurous races on the Up and Running Events calendar at Chatelherault Country Park.
Set within the spectacular grounds of Chatelherault, this is a race that feels completely different from your typical road event. At the heart of the event is an incredible 10km trail course through dense woodland, taking runners deep into the country park across a varied mix of forest paths and trails.
Expect bridge crossings, stair descents, rolling climbs and plenty of twists and turns as you make your way through the forest. It’s challenging in places, fast and flowing in others, and packed with scenery throughout. This is less about chasing a road PB and more about enjoying the adventure.
Choose from 6km, 10km, 16km or 20km, making the event accessible whether you’re experiencing trail running for the first time or looking for a longer challenge.
As with every Up and Running Events race, expect chip timing, friendly marshals, free race photography, a finisher medal, post-race goodies and a welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities.

Route information
A proper trail adventure through the heart of Chatelherault Country Park.
The course takes runners deep into the park’s dense woodland, following a spectacular network of forest trails with plenty of variety from start to finish. Expect flowing woodland paths, rolling climbs, bridge crossings and stair descents as the route winds its way through the landscape.
At the heart of the event is our 10km trail loop, with the different race distances using sections and combinations of the course to create the 6km, 10km, 16km and 20km options.
The terrain is varied and naturally more challenging than a traditional road race, so this isn’t a course built around chasing a PB. It’s about exploring the trails, taking on the climbs and enjoying a running experience with a real sense of adventure.
The course will be fully marked with directional arrows and friendly marshals positioned throughout to keep runners on track.

Get full directionsChatelherault Country Park is easily accessible by both public transport and car.
Ferniegair Railway Station is located close to the park and is just a short walk from the event area, making travelling by train a great option for race day.
For those travelling by car, parking is available at Chatelherault Country Park. We recommend arriving in plenty of time, particularly for the larger race distances.
