Route information
The Cybi Coastal will be partially way-marked and will follow the paths, tracks, beaches and coastline of the Welsh national/Anglesey Coastal Path. The entire route passes through magnificent coastline scenery with fine views of wide bays, sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, the famous South Stack lighthouse and the summit of Holyhead Mountain.
Starting in the port town of Holyhead this race takes you on a variety of surfaces. Easy going paved paths, a small amount of road sections, sandy beaches, fields and single tracks. Tricky cliff tops and with a few good hill climbs and to top it all off a short sharp climb to the top of Holyhead Mountain and back down to sea level. Depending on the weather, this course can be very muddy and trail shoes are highly recommended.

Was my first marathon and second marathon 2018 & 2019. Absolutely brutal but felt such an achievement at the end. Fabulous route, even with Holyhead mountain at mile 22! 😂 Amazing scenery and great pit stops. Will be back in 2020.........

I had high expectations for this race after my running buddies kept going on about it, I am glad to say that it did not disappoint! The scenery is amazing and the organisation was fantastic. It is now me going on about this race to other running buddies. See you in 2020!

Absolutely stunning event! Organisation, course and marshalls are second to none. This deserves to become an iconic event as it gives Anglesey a marathon to be proud of. I'll be back again next year for my third outing. Its not a PB course, its challenging but sublime!

This is a course with stunning scenery and many challenges. It’s not for the faint hearted. The organisation was amazing and everyone was really friendly. This was my first trail marathon and I really want to compete again. X

Utterly brutal (where else can you climb a mountain in the last 6 miles?), incredible scenery, great marshalls and well stocked check points.
