Route information
Starting in Settle, you will head off-road after 7k and stay in the gravel for 30k. Take in the fantastic Pennine Way. This is only the beginning, the main event will be the legendary Salter Fell Road.
One of the largest gravel tracks in the country. This will take you into the complete wilderness. At Slaidburn you will then have a nice break with food before the last stretch back to Settle with one more off-road section before a well-earned beer at the finish.

How do I find out my start time for the Forest of Bowland Gravel Epic?
Riders will start in groups of 6 at a time. You will be emailed after you have booked to choose your start time between 8:00am and 10am. If you are riding with a friend you can choose to start with them.
What happens if I have a mechanical problem with my bike at the Forest of Bowland Gravel Epic?
There will be mechanics at all feed stops to help you and ride captains along the route to offer support, make sure to bring a basic repair kit for small incidences.
What is the best bike for the Forest of Bowland Gravel Epic?
This route is 50% on quiet lanes and 50% on technical gravel. This will include bumpy off-road climbs. A mountain bike will be ideal on off-road sections. If you are an experienced rider you may use a gravel bike with 40mm tyres.
