When will I receive my race number and pack for the London Duathlon?
Race numbers, bike and helmet stickers, electronic timing chip and security band will be posted to participants a few weeks before the event. If you have not received your race pack by the week before the event, please email us on hello@londonduathlon.com.
CaretLeft
Are there water stations during the London Duathlon?
There will be a number of water stations during each distance respectively. There will be water stations on the bike route but only for the Ultra participants - it is your responsibility to ensure that you have enough fluid to keep yourself hydrated on the bike leg.
CaretLeft
Can I listen to my own personal music while I compete during the London Duathlon?
Unfortunately, no headphones are allowed. The safety of all participants is paramount and through wearing headphones you will be less likely to hear other competitors or marshals, which could become a hazard on route. You may be disqualified if you are seen wearing them, either on route or in transition.
CaretLeft
Are disc brakes and disc wheels allowed at the London Duathlon?
Disc brakes are allowed as this is a non-drafting event. Disc wheels also permitted at the event, however this may be amended should the Event Organiser and Technical Official decide in the interest of safety, such as high winds.
CaretLeft
How do I use a number belt for the London Duathlon?
A number belt is an elasticated belt that carries your race number and allows you to swap it from front on the runs to the back on the bike - it also means that you don't have to put safety pins through your clothing! You simply attach your number to the race belt and then put the race belt around you.
CaretLeft
How early should I arrive for the London Duathlon?
Please arrive approximately 60 minutes before your start time to get your gear set up in the correct row in transition before warming up and making your way to the start line.

Did the Full Duathlon in 2019
This was a big thing for me. Having done only one very small Duathlon last year, I was a bag of nerves! I got myself a parking space at sheen gate and my first impression was, where do I go? Once in the village, I still felt very underwhelmed by the whole thing. Anyway, started the first run and the organisation and marshals started to make me feel more at ease. Loved the cycling part, very exhilarating course, yet challenging! Final run went better than planned. Once I crossed the line I was so pumped!! Loved it!! Amazing event in stunning area!! Can’t wait to do it all again!! Highly recommend!!!!

This was such an awesome event. It was my first ever Duathlon! It’s like a triathlon where you don’t get freezing cold and wet at the beginning. Will deff be signing up for 2020.

Did the Full Duathlon in 2017
I really enjoyed this event and it is one of the more interesting and demanding duathlons I think. I did find it quite expensive, as race entries go, however the organisation is very good, and it is an amazing chance to enjoy Richmond Park when it's completely closed to traffic. I would definitely recommend doing this event at least once. The best thing about the event was the atmosphere, the set up looks very professional and there is really good support, crowds and event village so it feels amazing to zoom through the barriers on your bike each lap, and also the finish chute from the run at the end. Also - having cycled around Richmond Park many, many times before, I expected the laps (being quite undulating and hilly) to feel like hard going, but the fact that it was traffic-free and the great atmosphere made it a surprisingly fast course!

Did the Ultra Duathlon in 2018
Absolutely loved it. If you want an event to really push yourself an Ultra Duathlon is the one.It is a little repetitive doing laps of Richmond Park but actually knowing where you are, what you have coming up and how long to go is helpful. The last 10k is the hardest thing i've done so the sense of accomplishment was awesome!!!Event is set up well, transition areas are good.So local to London means easy for friends and family to come and watch

is the event draft legal for the bike please??
Alex Rose
9/4/2020
Nope. I'm pretty sure drafting is only ever allowed for elite races. Definitely against the rules for the London Duathlon. You can only enter the draft zone for the purposes of overtaking, and if you haven't managed to overtake within 15s, you'll need to drop back.
