Free RunThrough Foundation 5K Ballot
Entry to the free RunThrough Foundation 5K is by ballot due to expected high demand.
In 2025, over 50,000 people applied for 6,000 places in the Foundation 10K, so the ballot helps keep entry genuinely accessible rather than becoming a race to click first.
A proportion of places will be prioritised for first-time runners and people from lower income areas, in line with the RunThrough Foundation’s mission to break down barriers to entry.
There will be three ballot waves:
Ballot Wave 1
Closes: 30th August 2026
Announced: 3rd September 2026
Ballot Wave 2
Closes: 25th October 2026
Announced: 5th November 2026
Ballot Wave 3
Closes: 22nd November 2026
Announced: 26th November 2026
Entering the ballot does not automatically enter you into the event. After each ballot wave, we will contact applicants with the outcome. If you are successful, you will need to accept your place. Any places not accepted will be passed on to another applicant.
Only one application per email address will be accepted. Multiple entries under the same email address will not be processed.
