A must do event for any OCR fan. It was a brilliant experience and one i thoroughly enjoyed. The up and down hills go on forever and the trenches are endless, but well worth it for the great medal at the end. It was 'warm,' the year i completed it compared to others, but the lollipop heads and lake jump were very cold.

Mr Mouse's mud marathon AKA Tough Guy. Now a shorter course with smaller numbers to avoid bottlenecks. Has it worked? Yes- with all the nasties left in! I can tell you the magic is still there. Zero degrees overnight, -3 windchill, epic mud, deep cold water, slippery obstacles what more do you need? Russia, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Wales, Switzerland all represented and whipped up by the ghost squad. The atmosphere was amazing. The race was again a joyous slog, grinding through endless mud, water and obstacles. Now a 12k course the first half is the usual run, with some hill slaloms, to spread the field and kill the legs. The second half was a tour around the usual mud and water pits, moat, all the tall obstacles like K2, Brandenburg etc, and the water. The killing fields claimed many victims! Most runners succumbed to the cold or cramp, but everyone else was able to complete the course in daylight (this time.) The medal is no longer a horse brass- which might divide opinion- but for most it's about the sheer joy of the original OCR and the magic of Mr Mouse and the right to say I was there and finished tough guy. I think this event went so well this time that thee is the possibility of rebuilding the event to one you have to go to. Anyone for next year?

As usual I love this event. It test every aspect of your abilities. Dealing with cold water, heights, endurance, none of the obstacles are to technical which is good as to many OCR events are concentrating on building bigger and better technical obstacles which takes some of the fun out of the event foe those that struggle with technical courses. Not all runners are seasoned professionals and are happy to be able to get half way across a set of monkey bars or hang tough rings. This is my fourth year here and look forward to many more years to come.

My First ever TG and I was on of the four crazy guys that completed it with car tyre. As I have never done it before can't compare but my experience was legendary and if being honest I wanted it longer maybe and more obstacles and that was with a tyre on my back, did not skip a Single obstacle and we even did some obstacles that were closed but we did them the old way (So they tell me). Loved it loved it and will be back more hills more obstacles

Loved it as much as other years. Please bring back the slaloms though. Tough Guy needs to be tough

It was great! Cold, tough and wonderful. The atmosphere was wonderful!! The route was well balanced although I liked it more when it was longer... But it is the original obstacle course. If you haven't done it you'll need to do it. To see and experience the killing fields.

This was my 1st tough guy and I expected a lot, I wasn't disappointed. Atmosphere was great, the start with the ghost squad really gets you up for the race. I was impressed with the obstacles, some big climbs. We didn't have to wait for any of the obstacles, I was only slowed down by cold, wet, muddy, very tired legs. If it is on next year I will be back.
