Join us for the Newark Half Marathon on Sunday 15th August 2027!
Take on a fast, road-closed Half Marathon through Newark and the surrounding Nottinghamshire countryside.
Starting on Hawton Road, the route heads out onto country roads around Hawton and Cotham before returning to Newark for a finish at Sconce & Devon Park. With a fast course and plenty of opportunity to settle into a strong rhythm, the Newark Half Marathon is an ideal choice for runners chasing a personal best.
The event welcomes runners of all abilities, whether you are taking on your first Half Marathon, targeting a new PB or returning to a race with a long history in the local running calendar.
Dating back to 1982, the Newark Half Marathon brings together decades of racing tradition with a well-organised and enjoyable modern race-day experience.
Expect clear course signage, supportive marshals and plenty of encouragement along the way as you take on 13.1 miles through Newark and its surrounding countryside.

START TIME
9:00 am - Half Marathon
12:00 pm - Juniors
CUT OFF
Please note there is a 3 hour cut-off on this race due to road closures in place
MINIMUM AGE

BAGGAGE
We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach it to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff, and they will help you find your baggage.
TOILETS
Portaloos will be available at the Event Village and there will be some around the halfway mark on course.
REFRESHMENTS
There will be water provided regularly on the route, and there will also be water available at the finish along with your post-race goodies and medal.
RESULTS
Results will be available here immediately after the race.
