The Brecon Beacons National Park is Wales at its wildest — sweeping moorland, glacial valleys, and the unmistakable flat-topped peaks of Pen y Fan and Cribyn. Starting from the village of Talybont-on-Usk, runners traverse reservoirs, forestry trails, and exposed mountain ridges with views stretching to the Black Mountains. This is true mountain running on Welsh soil — technical, remote, and unforgettable.

TRAVEL

Driving

From Cardiff: Take the A470 north (45–60 mins).

From London/Midlands: Use the M4 or M50, then follow the A40 west into the park via Abergavenny.

Public Transit

Via Abergavenny: Catch a train from Cardiff or Manchester to Abergavenny, then take a local bus (e.g., X43) to Brecon.

Via Merthyr Tydfil: Take a train from Cardiff to Merthyr Tydfil, then take the T4 bus north toward Brecon (stops at the Pen y Fan trailhead).

Direct Bus: The TrawsCymru T4 runs directly from Cardiff to Brecon.

BAGGAGE

We will have a secure area where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach it to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff, and they will help you find your baggage.

TOILETS

There will be toilets at the venue as well as some out on course

REFRESHMENTS

Each aid station includes water, electrolytes, coke, fruit, snacks and energy gels at each station. There will also be water available at the finish along with your post-race goodies and medal.

RESULTS

Results will be available here immediately after the race.
