This was probably the most beautiful route I have ever run but make no mistake, it was tough. A lot of the terrain was difficult to run on due to rocks and boulders but I enjoyed that challenge. Personally, I loved the whole event but it may come as shock to someone more used to pounding the city streets. Do be aware that your time is likely to be 1.5x - 2x your usual marathon time so plan accordingly.
