The route has been accurately measured by an accredited course measurer. It starts very close to the J2 roundabout on the eastern carriageway of the M48 itself, crosses over the bridge on the closed motorway, turns around near the J1 roundabout (near the Aust services) and returns via the upstream pedestrian access-way of the bridge, just as the Half Marathon does, straight into the event village. The 10k route is therefore almost entirely run on the bridge itself.

Traveling to the event, finding the event village and parking couldn't be easier - it's less than a minute from junction 2 of the M48.
Car parking is free for everyone that enters in January, unfortunately we have lost some of our space in the industrial estate and anticipate that later entrants will have to pay for car parking. All car parking will be signed directly from the motorway junction. The free car parking is less than 5 mins walk form Race HQ, where there is a baggage store and changing facilities. This year we plan to re-open the Severn Bridge earlier than last year to facilitate better egress from the car park, particularly for those traveling back east towards England.
Venue facilities: Toilets, baggage, chip timing limited catering, medals, T-shirts, water, marshals, first aid.

Never ran this event before but I live relatively close so easy to get to. I have to say extremely hot day and big hill at mile 6.5. I walked a bit due to heat but so did many others. We'll organised and friendly marshalls. Nice to start on the bridge and run across it towards the finish. Medal, and T-Shirt and goody bag at the finish. Would recommend 😁🏃🏼‍♂️

A challenging course but a real experience running over the Bridge! Great scenery, very well organised and fantastic marshals. Plus a few funny signs and quotes along the course to make you smile!

Not many races cross 2 countries and have you running over a motorway. Great bands, wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend

I absolutely loved this half marathon! The views from the Severn Bridge were incredible, and starting on the closed motorway definitely a novelty! The volunteers were very enthusiastic, and a surprising number of locals came out to support. I'll be forever grateful to the ones with hosepipes as it was 30degrees and full sun!! 3 well stocked water stops on the course and plenty at the finish. Hilarious signs round the course, and of course mid way the only hill that has ever made me walk so early in a race! Excellent medal, just slightly disappointed that the t shirt was cotton rather than technical.

The run itself was great, a really good route with plenty of water stops, and very friendly locals along the country lanes, the only downside I would say would be the finish, after running 13 miles to suddenly have to dodge families with young children and pushchairs along the very narrow 200 metre finish was a little frustrating and I feel this could have been better organized or managed. Overall it was a great experience.

Due to the heat the course was tough for many runners. Very hilly course but being able to run on the carriageway on the bridge wasn’t awesome .. however on return journey once the 10k joined at entry to th ebridge, it was hard work on the footpath.Basic medal not impressive and cotton tshirt really poor from a race in 2019Maybe August isn’t the best month to run this race.

Beautiful course, even in the pouring rain! Probably not a beginners course, quite hilly at sections but remember what goes up must come down so the downhill sections are very rewarding!

I loved it. It was a great shame that the weather was so bad and there was a lack of shelter before the race. But the course itself is great and such a fantastic idea over the bridge.
