Run alongside one of Scotland’s most iconic lochs in the heart of Lanarkshire.

Join us at Strathclyde Country Park for a 5K, 10K or Half Marathon, taking in the stunning surroundings of Strathclyde Loch and one of Scotland’s best-known outdoor sporting locations.

Set in the heart of Lanarkshire, Strathclyde Country Park offers a fantastic setting for a day of running. With wide, smooth paths, beautiful waterside scenery and views stretching across the loch, it’s a location that brings together great running and some of the best scenery in the Central Belt.

The course makes the most of the park’s extensive path network, with long, flat sections alongside the water and open stretches where runners can settle into their pace. Whether you’re chasing a personal best, stepping up to a new distance or simply enjoying a run with friends, there’s something for everyone.

Strathclyde is also a brilliant place to experience the community side of running. With runners of all ages and abilities coming together, friends and families supporting from around the course and a welcoming event village, there’s always a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.

Whether it’s your first 5K or your next Half Marathon, everyone is welcome to get involved.

As always, expect chip timing, friendly marshals, free race photography, a bespoke finisher medal, post-race goodies and everything that makes an Up and Running Events race day.

Route information

The Strathclyde Country Park course takes runners around the beautiful Strathclyde Loch, combining long, flat waterside paths with scenic routes through one of Scotland’s best-known country parks.

With huge stretches of flat, fast running alongside the water, wide, smooth paths and very little elevation, Strathclyde is a fantastic location for runners looking to settle into a rhythm, maintain a consistent pace and chase a personal best.

Each distance follows a slightly different route through the park:

* 5K: A flat and fast out-and-back route alongside Strathclyde Loch, making the most of the long, uninterrupted waterside paths.

* 10K: Beginning with an out-and-back section before completing one full loop of the park, taking runners along the lochside and through the surrounding parkland.

* Half Marathon: Starting with an out-and-back section before completing three loops of the park to make up the full 21.1km distance.

The course offers a brilliant mix of open waterside running and scenic parkland, with stunning views across Strathclyde Loch throughout. The long, flat sections beside the water are a particular highlight, offering some of the fastest and most enjoyable running on our calendar.

All routes will be fully marked with kilometre markers, directional arrows and friendly marshals throughout.

Runners completing multiple laps will be responsible for keeping track of their own lap count.
