Route information
Long Route
Starting in Swanage this route begins with a climb away from the coast in the first three kilometres. AFter this, riders will take on a 50k up to Blandford Forum, which is the perfect location to stop for a rest and enjoy the views.
For the remaining 100k, the route is mostly up and down, featuring the long (5k) Bulbarrow Hill, short and sharp (1k, 8%) Cerne Abbas Climb. To end, this route has riders take on the challenging Kington Hill - one of the UK’s Top 100 Climbs.
Medium Route
This route follows the long course for the first 20k with a ride down to the coast and then climb out of Swanage.
Most of the first half is rolling, giving you a chance to warm up your legs before the punchier second half. The second half will feature some longer climbs, including Durdle Door (3.5k at 2% gradient) and then Creech Hill (the full climb is 3.5k at 4.1% with a steep top part).
The ride finishes with the climb of Kingston Hill and then a quick descent back into Swanage.
