Route information
Trail Run - 3k
The duathlon starts with a 3k off road trail run within the Silent Valley Nature park. Underfoot will be a mixture of gravel paths and single track gravel with some we and muddy sections. This will be a looped route providing some awe inspiring views the entire way around.
Road Cycle - 45k
The bike course will be a hilly and demanding one. After leaving transition, you'll head onto the road surrounding the Silent Valley to complete the 45k cycle. The route will take you to the coast towards Newcastle before ascending into the Mountains passing Meelmore, Spelga and Attical.
Road / Trail Run - 15k
The final run will have you running a bit of an incline towards the Annalong Valley at Carricklittle but after that it's all downhill to propel you to the finish line. The second run route will be a mixture of road and trail underfoot.
All routes will be fully way marked - therefore navigation skills will not be a requirement for this event. Please familiarise yourself with the routes below:

Parking
Parking will be free and is allocated on arrival at the main silent Valley Car Park. Please follow race directions on arrival.

East Coast Adventure is the official accommodation partner of this event. The Mountain Lodge is just 3 miles away from the start line and is a great option for an overnight stay.
There will also be the option to park caravans and camp at Silent Valley the night before the event. Details for camping facilities will be coming soon.

Do I need a specific bike for The Wall – Adventure Duathlon?
Any road worthy bike is fine but road bikes are encouraged. Your bike must be fitted with good quality front white and rear red lights.
