You will be taken around the trails of Thetford forest by a UK Athletics-qualified run leader. You will be running over a mixture of varied terrain including some uphill/downhill running. The forest is usually rather dry due to its quick-draining nature.

Ability Level
This event is aimed at those who want to build their running skills on the trails. All participants must be able to run a minimum of 5k.
What will the day cover?
During the workshop you will cover what trail running is, running technique, running over different terrain, uphill/downhill running, and what shoes and gear you may need.
There will be a fully qualified UK Athletics running coach on hand to answer any questions you have throughout the morning.
The Guides know High Lodge like the back of their hands, and will give out fascinating facts about the history and nature of Thetford Forest when you head out on to trails.
There will be refreshments provided, you may want to bring water for when you're running as you will be on the trails for around 2 hours.
All run leaders and running coaches are fully qualified by the UK Athletics.
Can I wear road shoes at the Trail Running Workshop?
Yes, road shoes are perfectly acceptable, even if it has rained before the workshop the forest trails are quick draining.
Is there parking at the Trail Running Workshop?
Yes, there is parking which will be available at a discounted rate for all participants for the duration of the event.
Are the run leaders certified at the Trail Running Workshop?
Yes, all run leaders and coaches are fully qualified by UK Athletics.
