Supporting the Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team
This event is supporting the Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team who provide a 24 hour on-call search and rescue service on behalf of the Police both in the mountains and in coastal, lowland and urban areas. We assist other emergency services in many situations, including flood relief and respond to approximately 40-50 call-outs a year and do a similar amount of training.
As a registered charity the team is totally reliant on donations. Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association (LDSAMRA) provides some grants, but the majority of our income comes from our own fundraising activity and donations. Help save lives by supporting a voluntary emergency service. To read more about the team please visit Mountain Rescue
