This event includes two routes, the 65 miles all the way around the Island route or the smaller 36 miles option.
Both routes include beautiful courses, quiet roads and amazing scenery, ensuring a scenic day of riding.

Entrants can book their ferry cost here for a discounted price.
Please note: The cost of the ferry is not included in the price of entry.
Sailing: Crossing time is approx.1 hour.
After disembarking from the Red Funnel ferry, entrants will make the short mile journey to the start venue which will be signposted. They will cross the East Cowes Chain Ferry prior and after the ride, will return to the ferry.
Entrants will need to pay £1.50 passenger return cost, which they will also cross on the sportive ride. This will be covered under the ticket price. Please be patient with queuing - the times will include this journey.
Provisional Times for the ferry are as follows:
Outbound: Southampton – East Cowes
- 06:00 Arrive 07:00
- 07:30 Arrive 08:30
- 09:00 (35mile route only) Arrive 10:00
Return: East Cowes to Southampton:
- 12:00 Arrive 13:00
- 13:30 Arrive 14:30
- 15:00 Arrive 16:00
- 16:30 Arrive 17:30
- 18:00 Arrive 19:00

Start Times
There won't be a mass start with all riders, you will allocated a start time. These allocated start times are flexible, so on the day if you want to set off sooner or later, that will be possible.
Bag Drop
You'll be able to leave a small bag at registration while you ride. You should bring some warm clothes for before and after your ride.
Feed Station
There will be a feed station on both routes. You'll have a chance to refill your water bottle, refuel with gels, bars and mince pies for those big hills towards the finish.

Are the ferries to get to the Winter Wight Wheeler flexible?
Yes. If you are booking a foot passenger ticket, these are just an open return so you can board any ferry on your return from the cycle ride.
Where do I need to go on race day for the Winter Wight Wheeler?
Exact locations will be confirmed closer to the event date, but all participants will take the ferry to the Isle of Wight to race on the day.
Can I switch to the shorter distance on the day for the Winter Wight Wheeler?
If you're worried you won't be able to complete the longer distance, you'll need to switch to the shorter route before you start. The routes will split off from each other immediately after the start.
How flexible are the start times for the Winter Wight Wheeler?
Super flexible. The start times are to ensure riders don't bunch up on the open roads. If you're ready to go, just head to the start line to be sent off in a small group.
