Great location. out of the boat lift area and then onto a looped course. Very pretty.Cheeky hill up to the finish area which i'd forgot about.Good medal, make sure you pay for parking. I'd do it again

Only remembering when getting into Northwich that I didn’t have any money with me for parking my friend was scrambling round in her bag for change lol I’d already felt disappointed that parking fee wasn’t included in the entry fee. Although I found somewhere else to park near to the boat lift. Walking toward the boat lift there was little signage directing into registration and the start from outside of the facility. We made it in the end though and registration was fast.  The course was beautiful and extremely warm and I was soon loving the run. Marshall’s where lovely and very encouraging. Hoping this event will get bigger and better this being the first one. The goody bag had sweets , cake and chocolate which soon was eaten but I honestly didn’t expect much with the entry fee being so cheap.Well done for a great event !

Run Heaton was an undulating, multi-lap race which had 5k, 10k and Half Marathon options.
Parking, baggage and number collection were all effortless.
Half marathon distance consisted of a partial loop, followed by 3 full laps. Heaton Park is a beautiful setting for a race. Paths were good for running on, although the 2x significant hills on each lap, make it a nice challenge.
Water station was on each lap, so approximately every 3miles.
Marshals were absolutely brilliant, as were the small but enthusiastic support.
Finishers received a decent medal, flap jack, banana ect.
There was also a FREE post-race massage option and FREE photographs.
    In summary-
Well organised, well marshalled, friendly race and good value.
Free massage & photos was an unexpected bonus.
The course is quite challenging but not too bad.
I'd certainly do this race again.

Loved the race. All the family took part includes a 5k, 10k, half and full marathon. 10k was very hot and tricky running back down the promonade. Great atmosphere and a good event for all of the family.
  • Did the event in 2018

This was my third time of running this half marathon, and once again no complaints. It's a road/path course and flat most of the way, with just slight inclines in the second half of the race. Good supplies of water every few miles.Support on the course is thin, so some may like their own music to listen to. It's right along the sea front and this can bring some inclement weather. This year it was cold, wet and windy, but last year it was warm and sunny. Be prepared for all eventualities.A straightforward run with no hick ups. FCR events are always pretty good in my opinion. A good medal and t-shirt at the finish, with chip timing as standard.Give it a go, you'll probably enjoy it and may even PB.
  • Did the event in 2018

FCR Events have been recommended in the past, and this is the first one I have done. Registration is simple and the company offer various events all year through their website. I got to Blackpool early and found a car park close to the start line, which was a bonus after running 26.2 miles....The Marathon and Half Marathon started at the same time, but in opposite directions and was well sign posted. The race went along the promenade from the north end of Blackpool, past the Tower, attractions and the Pleasure Beach. You then turned around and ran back along to Bispham, then back again. The added bonus is that the event had a full road closure along the front so the course was traffic free. The support was quiet early on, (started at 09:30), and it was raining. Crowds steadily got busier and the weather slowly improved. The last few miles was run in glorious sunshine and was actually quite warm. Upon finishing, you were handed a bottle of water, banana, chocolate, tshirt and a medal. All in all, it was a great event and I will certainly look at doing more FCR events in the future. PS: The medal is a cracker!

  • Did the event in 2018

Last year I completed the Liverpool Spring 10k, it was two laps round the glorious Sefton Park in the sun and I couldn’t wait to sign up again! This year the route had changed to incorporate the iconic cathedrals of Liverpool, starting at the Catholic Metropolitan cathedral and making its way past the Anglican Cathedral down into two parks of Liverpool. This included Princes Park and the larger Sefton Park. As soon as we entered Sefton Park the crowds were amazing. Lots of cheering and support, along with the usual drummers and musical acts. The last 6K went by so quickly as we looped around the lakes in the park and past the famous Palm House – a Dome-shaped Victorian palm house situated in the centre of the park.I strongly recommend this race, it is organised by couple Matt and Sam Davies and they put their heart and souls into ensuring the T-Shirts are amazing, and the medals are worth the run! This year the reward was a trophy style medal which stands up on your mantlepiece (or office desk!).The thing I really love about the event is that it forms part of a weekend where there is a timed 5K and a Kids 1K. The timed 5K is a wonderful chance for newer runners to push themselves and get a feel for an official race. The event is chip timed, there are bands around the route and finishers are rewarded with a lovely medal and training t-shirt. When 5Ks are labelled as “fun runs” the terminology can often take away from how much of an amazing feat 5K is for any runner so Matt and Sam stay away from this. Last year two of my friends did their first 5Ks at this event and it gave them a massive sense of achievement, one went on to do a half marathon the next year. To conclude a good time was had by all amazing route, great medals and t-shirts, fabulous weather and a well organised and enjoyable run!
  • Did the event in 2018

Easy registration process and race number arrived in plenty of time beforehandVery well organised set up pre race with more than enough toilets a very efficient baggage drop. Colour coded starter pens made for a very good startA new route means the run starts by the Catholic Cathedral and goes down Hope St and Princess Ave, both wide enough to easily accomodate the masses of runners. The final 6km enters familiar territory with a few loops within Sefton Park with the trees providing decent shade on a hot morning. A cheeky incline brings you onto a short finishing straightSupport was minimal in the residential areas but was much more evident in the Park with a couple of drumming bands and a packed finishing areaA well set out area after the finish line made water, t-shirt and medal collection very easy with both the shirt and medal being good quality. There was a massive field next to finish were runners could meet up, compare times, get burgers and ice cream and bag collection was easy. Free buses ferried runners back to the start area

A great trail race in Wigan, Cheap to enter and a great course. Pie and peas after it paid for by your entrance fee which is also great. Excellent atmosphere and very friendly runners. Will defo do this next year. Well done to all involved.
  • Did the event in 2017

second time I have done this race and second time they have booked fantastic weather.this race is a small local race around a local lake/ wooded area on mainly gravel paths and a bit of grass here and there. I've only ever done it in good weather so always been good underfoot could imagine if wet may be slippy in places.i only entered on the day which unfortunately meant I missed the free pie and peas you get if you enter online, but to be fair there were pies offered round at the end. The registration process was nice and friendly, it's held in a rugby club so plenty of toilets, can be hard work when there's just one portaloo.you have to walk a little way to the start but its well signed and real friendly marshals helping you along the way,the start is a little cramped as the paths are only small but I think this adds to the atmosphere, for any serious pb chasers I suggest getting to the front as it's a while before the pack spreads out.the run itself is sort of figure of 8 around a lake and woods although only small it's a great route, there's good support on the way and because it's only small you pass the same groups a couple of times. There is a water station at around 4K in which you also pass just after 8k which I think is quite rare in small races it was well stocked with half filed cups of water, which I prefer to bottles (too much waste )its a really scenic route as you drive into the race you wouldn't think that you would be running round such a nice place.the finish is outside the rugby club on the field and both times I have done it has had great support. There is a water station at the finish.snd if your lucky enough to have entered online you can go into the club for your free pie and peas.all in all great local small race, well worth the money friendly helpful marshals, I really like local friendly races like this, one touch which I thought was good was at the presentation they had got ribbon to match the club colours for whoever had won. Definitley be back again really enjoyed my local race. And to top of a great day managed a 10k pb

Haven't done a large race in a while. Great atmosphere. Loved running on the mancunian way. Water sprayers were very welcome!

This is my 6th running of the Manchester run, in what is always one of my favourite events as it’s where it all started for me back in 2012.As usual registration and organisation was really simple as is the organisation of the day getting to the start and the collection of goody bag at the is a well oiled machine. The pacers do a great job motivating (I am one lol) and it’s great to try to spot celebs. This time though it just didn’t feel the same. The atmosphere was good but not quite the levels of the past. This was the first time I have experienced a fla spot between runners around the 7-8k mark, maybe it was the heat or just the fact there were less runners? Can t fault all the local turning out to support as usual they were great, but again feel it just wasn’t as highly supported as you got past old trafford. The finish line was amazing as usual.I feel that the 10k race is being affected by the HM taking its place in the morning, making it a long day for the locals to support with some 10k not even starting before the Tv coverage ends, some people running for charity not getting the opportunity to spot themselves on TV. Great run operate separate events for 10k and HM in Newcastle, why not do this in Manchester.Medals are a bit more imaginative lately with ok shirts, but apart from a chocolate or two, a breakfast bar and a drink, not much to shout about in the goody bags, put to shame the Southport Mad Dog bags.Weather was red hot this year, really needed a few more water stations, I’ve never seen so many people walking. I will be back again but not quite the event it was before the HM was introduced.Check out my video of the dayhttps://youtu.be/AdgxtsNS80g

I was lucky enough to receive a place on behalf of my local charity, the registration process was very simple. The pre race pack arrived in plenty of time and was very informative. The race was in 2 waves, 9am and 9:10am. Warmups were held for each wave. The weather was extremely hot and water stations were at the 5, 10, 15 and 20KM marks - bottles of water were handed out with no queues. The course is very uninspiring and it mentions in the pre race pack headphones wouldn't be required as there was plenty of entertainment along the course, if I were to run it again I would make sure I had music.A number of people required medical attention due to the heat, this was provided very quickly - thankfully. The course finished on Deansgate, thankfully my 9 year old son ran the last half a mile to get me over the line as by that point I was fit for nothing. The goody bags contained the medal, t shirt, flavoured juice, cereal bar and a few other items. Great medal, would I run it again - probably not

Did this race today. First time I've done it and the first time I have ever ran on sand. Only 112 people did it today mainly due to another race in Blackpool today toward the centre of town. It made no difference though it was a lovely day and lovely race. Everybody was really friendly and helpful and the beach was stunning in the sun. Loved it. Well done

The race sets off from Lindley a village in Huddersfield. Parking was easy probably about 5 minutes from the start. On the roadside, in fact we virtually ran past it during the race. There are 5 or 6 portaloos in the car park & more at the registration point. The race starts off on Lindley high Street which is called Lidget street this is also the finish line & where all the support is. Registration is in a pub on Lidget Street & is straightforward. After leaving Lidget street the race goes into a climb, then a 6k downhill, with a 2k uphill finish so definitely isn't a PB course. There is a water station at 5k. With more water & bananas at the finish. All finishers receive a technical t-shirt & medal which is fairly reasonably for the £16 entry price. I would do it again as it's reasonably priced & local but to be honest there are more interesting routes but as I said for the price it's fair enough.

Got an email on Wednesday saying the medals were in danger of not arriving for the race today. Unfortunately they didn't. That didn't bother me as sometimes these things happen. Logistics I suppose. An excellent arranged event starting at middle promenade, lots of people and you run down on a path next to the sea wall upto bispham. Very flat, slight undulating on the way back but nothing that bad tbh. Parking is easy in Blackpool as always. Another great FCR event. Well done
