Route information
This late May ride is the perfect chance to weave your way through central London by bike on a completely traffic-free route, covering 7 miles. Entry is free, and the event is open to cyclists of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Starting from Trafalgar Square, you'll follow the Strand towards Somerset House, before turning onto Kingsway. The next section of the route will see you cycle through Holborn, London's historic legal district, as you head into the City of London.
Continuing deeper into London's financial district, you'll turn onto Gresham Street, bringing you to the iconic Bank of England building, and then down onto Queen Victoria Street. As you cycle further, you'll get incredible views of St Paul's Cathedral, with its impressive dome, after which you'll ride onto the Blackfriars Underpass.
This will bring you out onto the River Thames and along Victoria Embankment, passing Embankment and Whitehall Gardens before you reach Westminster, where you'll be able to glimpse the Houses of Parliament. The next stretch of the route follows Birdcage Walk past the greenery of St James's Park and towards Buckingham Palace. You'll turn onto the Mall, with Green Park on your left, before heading on a loop taking in Pall Mall, St James's Street and bustling Piccadilly Circus. You'll finish your 7-mile ride back at Trafalgar Square.
The event will have two Festival Zones located along the route at Bank and St Paul's. Riders will be able to stop for mechanical support, food and refreshments, and there will also be activities on offer, including music, games and face painting!
